Play date @Ping's

We met Ping + Niels last week at Jeanie's place, she was so nice to invite us over to her place for plate date.   They live in South San Jose and the area of their place is beautiful. Ping made some delicious salmon udon for us and I couldn't stop eating. They have so many "big boy toys" that Aaron never played before. They have all kind of toys like the musical table, ride n go, and other toys that I've never seen.  I went home and started researching for all the fun toys I can get for Aaron. :)

First play date (@Jeanie's)

Aaron and I went to his very first play date at Jeanie's place. We had such awesome time that Aaron met another baby named Niels. Jeanie was very kind to prepare a steamed fish, veggies, and meatballs. She even went to get us some bubble tea! Aaron got to play so many new toys and we borrowed a couple books home. We love play dates! :)

Last pump

I can't believe the dreadful 7.5 month pumping has finally comes to an end. I am officially done with pumping for Aaron. The last time I pumped was 4 days ago and today I am only making less than 15ml. It feels so good to be free from the pump and I can spend so much more time with Aaron. The past 6 month of pumping was absolutely painful (both physically and mentally).  It was so time-consuming and stressful that I hope nobody else needs to experience it.  But I am still glad that I did it for Aaron and gave him what is supposed to be the best. I just wish I had enough supply and didn't have to supplement with formula. Oh well, it can never be perfect, can it?

Whee! I love the freedom and the extra time I have with Aaron.

Ingrown toenail infection

I was changing Aaron's pj this morning and noticed his left big toe is red and swollen. It is pretty alarming as I remember reading something dangerous about swollen baby toe. Of course the paranoid me immediately start searching online and see what might have caused the red swollen toe. Once again, everything sounds pretty serious and scary and I call the nurse right away. She didn't seem too concerned but I insist to get Aaron checked. Unfortunately, daddy could not make it to the appointment so I had to drive Aaron to the Dr. by myself. Luckily grandma came with us and helped carry some stuff for us.

The nurse said that Aaron has an ingrown toenail and is infected the moment she saw his toe. The Dr. then made a small incision to remove the puss and had us send the culture to the lab. Poor Aaron was crying so loud when the dr. poked his toe and I was such a wimp that I didn't even dare to watch what the dr. was doing.

Dr. also confirmed that Aaron's second tooth is popping out. Yay! Sooner or later he will have 2 bottom teeth and start looking more like a little kid.

2nd flu shot + Hep B

Aaron had his second flu shot and last Hepatitis B vaccine yesterday. Of course he cried after being poked, but luckily it didn't last long.  We were originally going for the vaccines only, but Aaron was making some really fast breathing sound in the afternoon so I scheduled to get a check up as well. The Dr. tried to listen to his lungs and heart and thought that everything sound okay. I am still pretty concerned that he might develop asthma as he has eczema (which is one of the risk factors of asthma).  The Dr. told us to keep an eye on him and will check on him again later.

The Dr. discovered that Aaron has his first bottom tooth! I have never felt his gum as I didn't know how is it supposed to feel like. I finally stuck my finger in his mouth and felt that little tooth. I guess Aaron's teeth-less smile won't last too long. He might have a full mouth of teeth before we know it.

Once again, I am re-thinking if I should look for a job so soon when I want to be around Aaron all the time to make sure he's well and healthy. All I hope for Aaron is he can grow up healthy and enjoy his childhood just like every other kid. I love you, my sweet baby.

Mommy's period is back

Uh Oh! My period has returned after slowing down on the pumping. I am only pumping once every other day and am planning to slow down even more this week. Aaron is down to a few more breast milk bottles and then he will be totally on formula.

I noticed his formula goes down in a lightning speed, maybe about one can a week. As Aaron grows older, I bet the formula will go down even faster. Hopefully he will outgrow his milk proteins allergy soon and start to eat some yogurt and cheese at 9-10 months.
